on how to access traditional as well as alternative sources
of financing.
Westchester IDA (Individual
Development Account) Program
IDAs are matched savings accounts designed to help low-income
individuals build assets that are matched at a rate of
2:1. Qualified WEDC graduates access these accounts, learn
valuable financial management skills and increase their
economic literacy.
Microloan Programs
Through WEDC's participation in the Westchester Enterprise
Fund, program graduates are eligible to apply for Microloans
of up to $5000 for their small businesses. One of the
goals of the loan fund program is to help borrowers establish
a positive credit history so that they can qualify for
subsequent loans from traditional lenders as their enterprises
grow.
